Re: Breaking up banks

dnfrm , Thanks for the heads up regarding SEC commissioner Roberta Karmel and this issue of Barron's , I will pick one up a copy . The issue of these banks should be discussed in every debate this year . In my opinion this economy won't turn around until these zombie banks are severed from the economy and are no longer dragging us to the bottom . Bob .

Re: Ron Paul responds to recent FOMC policy settings

Les , a very pointed and honest article . This is not just the ELEPHANT in the room , its the rogue elephant thats trampling the economy . It is not addressed in the debates , as far as I can tell not even mentioned in the Florida election . http://tinyurl.com/8xc82ug

Re: Why we need complete change

Grym ,Yes someone with a large amount of name recognition might do it . On a more local level, especially if you are not tainted by belonging to a party . A large amount of cash is necessary . Here on L.I. N.Y. To run for House of Rep. you need 15,000 signatures from registered voters , and 15,000 signatures of notary of the public as witness for a total of 30,000 . The old boy network does not like competition ! By comparison to run for president of France you only need 500 signatures. http://tinyurl.com/6opbvx3

Re: Silvercorp Names Names

Silvercorp , filed an amended lawsuit in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York . That should bring in Sunlight to disinfect . Heres hoping there some rule of law left in New York .

Re: Why Ron Paul Matters

Grym , the opponents of Ron Paul , all seem to focus tearing him down . Neither his vocal critics nor his electoral opponents support his main issues , "
• Constitutional Focus , Civil Liberties
• Military Defense — not undeclared wars
• Foreign Policy and Military Spending
• Austrian Economics
• Dynamic Market Capitalism as opposed to crony capitalism Auditing the Fed . Auditing the U .S . gold reserves . Ending the Fed . Ending Banks that are too big to fail . " His many Positives and the fact no one else supports his positive positions make him stand out . Bob .

Boom time for workers at the mining giants

If the mining industry is this busy it SHOULD show up in stock prices someday .
" Over the past five years, the average employee at the "big four" mining giants of BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Anglo American and Xstrata has received an additional 211pc of his or her salary, according to Deutsche Bank analysts: "In other words, the average employee has received just over two years' additional pay on top of what would have been received had salaries remained flat on 2005 levels."
Nowhere is the phenomenon more evident than in Australia, where the scarcity of workers to feed Asian demand for commodities has not been helped by tight restrictions on immigration. Even truck drivers are now getting paid salaries of A$150,000 to A$180,000 (£96,000 to £116,000) and they can be trained up from scratch. The more skilled professionals whose experience commands a premium – mining engineers, resource geologists – are in even tighter supply. " http://tinyurl.com/cgkcbo9

GOLD: Why the old purchasing system is breaking down .

" Banks and Sovereigns fight for gold as middlemen lose out ." "Until last April, I had a gold tracker (ie, a paper contract) with RBS. But I became so alarmed at some of the feedback I was getting about the bank’s parlous state, I sold (at $1872) and put the money instead into gold mining shares. Although I didn’t fully realise why at the time, this may have been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. " http://tinyurl.com/8xb6294

Stocks perhaps of interest .

Les , I agree UGX is moving into the target zone . On Friday morning a stock I have been watching SSRI . Silver Standard Resources appeared in the accumulation zone ie. RSI under 30 in the daily , weekly and monthly columns . It is an explorer developer and miner in Argentina , Australia , canada ,Chile Mexico , Peru and the U.S. The company explores for silver , gold tin zinc lead and copper deposits . On Friday morning looking at the futures before the market opened I entered a bid at $13.15, I was bought in at 3.09 . Tonight it is in the buy zone . I don't believe it will rise markedly until precious metals begins to ascend , at some point in the future . Bob

Re: US Existing-Home Sales to Be Revised Downward Back to ...

davefairtex you are right . I believe our core problem is that we are missing a basic RULE OF LAW . We are wandering aimlessly with no direction . We have to have reason to believe that the law applies to us all equally . Not believe instead that if you know some one or pay off the right government official , you can avoid THE EQUAL RULE OF LAW. Bob
