This is a screen shot of the INTC order we talked about last night. As you can see I had a limit bid of 22.80 that was filled @ 22.47, which was the best ask at the time. GL to everyone!!
No sweat Vad, I'll be careful. I now it will be hit at the best bid. Since I'm all cash right now at least it will give me something to do besides watch :)
I've always been in favor of education. I'll limit order 1000 shares of INTC .40 above the ask @ 10:00am, right after I close the warning screen saying I'm bidding above the ask. I'll report back tomorrow.
It has been a while! Hope your well. Frankly, I agree with a lot of what has been replied. That's why I tried to be cautious, using words like "perhaps, maybe, and believe." I'm simply saying keep your options open. Besides the minor examples I used, what I'm hearing from my clients who work in a very broad range of industries and countries is encouraging. GL to all in their trading!!
Hi Guys! It's been a while and keep an eye open to what is happening here :)
bolus- Perhaps you might be right in the very long term, but coming from a contractor in a very desirable area, you couldn't be further off the mark. Home prices here have appreciated 30% YOY, the low end is sold out and mid-priced homes are up 20%. LEN bought a failed development for .60 on the dollar and are putting in 45 foundations now. Isn't that exactly how it is supposed to work?
The largest CRE bank in my area is now advertising again, and has funded 6 new large projects. How long is everyone going to wait for the "next shoe to drop" (CRE) ?
Why is it so impossible to believe things are getting better? Maybe all of my clients have no idea what the hell they are talking about, and most of you know who they are, but they all say business is strong. Take a look at WY. Paper/wood/composite products/home builders.
Is the market over bought? Probably...So wait. Be patience. Or trade like Vad does and pick your spots.
Is this all anecdotal? Sure. But so is every thing you just posted. At least I work in the industry.
One last thing and I'll crawl back into my hole. NYU, just make sure both of your loans are non-recourse. I'd be surprised if the rental is, and if you ever re-financed your principal residence, I would expect that your primary isn't either. The difference could be all of the money you have.
Dave/proudpapa- I find this an interesting discussion. NYU signed a contract to borrow money from a financial institution, at a given interest rate for a specified length of time. Would you be as agreeable if interest rates rose dramatically and said institution put a stop loss on the interest rate and called the loan?
TOF- Checking in every day, my friend. I just don't feel like I can contribute in a manner that is help full to others. Just like this one! Sent you an e-mail earlier.
Hey Greg- I checked out that site when people here were talking about it. You right, lot's of TA etc. I might just caution it does have a lot of sexual innuendo, drinking/getting sick jokes. That doesn't bother me at all. But let me put it this way. I have recommended Bill to many people. Mostly older than I and have a lot of respect for. I would not do that with "Slope". GL, I hope you have time to post at both sites. I see you live in a rather cold climate!
I was only able to be at the screen for a few minutes this morning at briefly at the close. I couldn't figure out why the comments were such. Now having read everyone of them, I understand why.
Bill, I came here on the suggestion of a friend in the business who highly recommended you. After lurking for about 6 months, I threw out a question late one night as to not offend anyone, or disturb the content during market hours. You were kind enough to answer my question and make me feel welcome. That was about 1 1/2 years ago. Over the past years I have been constantly amazed at the quality of the posts, the variety of the comments, and the generosity of those who take the time to contribute. Some here have even taken the time out of there busy lives to respond to e-mails on issues that are better left off a blog. For this gift I am truly grateful.
For some reason the quantity/content of some community members comments (myself, I'm sure) are being questioned. I couldn't disagree more. Why not simply ignore the people whom you find un-help full/offensive/redundant? Why waste YOUR valuable time trying to change other peoples ideas? For the rest of us I hope to continue to learn/contribute/err, in the welcoming environment it has always been.
David- Following through on my thesis from last night...Short KGC/SLW 11.60/21.88, TZA/14.94. I WAS surprised to see $USD take that .5% hit early today, but we are only 70 cents away from the previous low last summer.
For the past month or so I have been only looking for shorts on over bought situation. Might not the miners be there now? +/- 15% in two days. Everything else has rotated. Gold - $6 now. I believe Bill said another run to $1000, +/- $20. Might we be there?
My pleasure Vad...I was trying to find a flat spot. Little tough today :)

Vad- Don't feel bad at all, I get L2 quotes and will pick my spot. Hell, that's the only way I made any money for 6 months until I woke up.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend. I will.

Might be worth watching tomorrow. Drops 20% on news CEO/CFO resigning.
Very interesting, but read the whole article. The headline seems ominous, but my take is...OK, that seems about right. What say you??

2nd...err..Oracle- Could you please post your prognostications before 5pm pdt, so the non-clairvoyant can sleep in?
